Three pretty girls and a cool moustache

Inspired by Sepia Saturday I rummaged through my great-grandparents photographs and found these two pictures that both fit the Hair theme.

The girls and the man I believe to be friends of my great-grandparents. The picture of the girls is from ca. 1908. The man's photograph might be a little earlier.

  1. Interesting cards- my guy is also sitting in one of those one armed chairs with the tassels hanging down.

    1. You're right, same chairstyle. Funny also because my guy had his picture taken in Copenhagen, DK - I'm guessing yours is American?

I really like your guy, both his clothes and that crazy-looking hair. Looks like there must have been quite a lot of gel in there - or whatever they used back then.

  2. I like the way his hair stands up; it matches the upward twirl in his moustache.

  3. Love the Gibson girl hair do, quite the thing in 1908! And the guy's upturned mustache- points are pretty funny, mimics the two slight peaks in his hair.

  5. The man's hairstyle and mustache really seem to belong together.

  6. I love his hairstyle, it's sort of "mad scientist" ha ha.

  7. I noticed the upward twirl too; very unsual!

    1. He does look quite unique. Must have had a very thick and curly mustache that refused to stay in a point.

  8. The ladies are lovely with their Gibson girl hairstyles and high collar blouses. The guy looks friendly and confident. His hairstyle and moustache certainly match.

  12. I've seen quite a few photos of guys with hair like that, flat in the middle and pointy on the sides. Looks funny now, but must have been quite the style back then!

  13. The Gibson girls were lovely. I wonder if the man chose his hairstyle deliberately to match his mustache.
